Major Oil Spill In The Mississippi River.

The Financial Times is reporting that up to 3.7 million gallons of crude oil has leaked into the Mississippi River. The spill was caused by Hurricane Katrina after the hurricane ruptured a pair of oil storage tanks. Officials estimate that the spill is about one-third the size of the giant Exxon Valdez oil spill in Prince William Sound, Alaska in 1989.
