U.S. Claims Canadians Can Be Tortured To Protect National Security.

The U.S. government is attempting to dismiss a lawsuit brought by Maher Arar, a Canadian citizen, claiming the litigation would jeopardize national security. Two years ago Arar was detained in New York and secretly deported to Syria where he was tortured.
