White House Aide Arrested.

The White House’s head procurement officer, David Safavian, was arrested on Monday on charges of obstructing a federal investigation and making false statements into his dealings with lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Safavian, who was the chief of Procurement policy at the Office of Management and Budget, has been accused by the Justice Department of aiding an unnamed lobbyist to acquire government property to take a golf trip to Scotland with said lobbyist. This marks the first criminal complaint filed against the ongoing corruption probe against Abramoff.
