Republican Governor Calls For Wiretapping Mosques.

Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, has called for law enforcement agents to begin wiretapping mosques. In a speech he gave at the Heritage Foundation he said, “How many individuals are coming to our state and going to those institutions who have come from terrorist-sponsored states? Do we know where they are? Are we tracking them?”

Romney, who is a likely Republican candidate for president in 2008, may not have considered that perhaps mosques aren’t the only thing that should be considered for wire tapping.

Tim McVeigh, who blew up the federal building in Oklahoma City, and Eric Rudolph, were set off a pipe bomb at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta were both devout Christians. Should the federal government include Baptist churches in such a wiretapping scheme? Would Romney be the first to agree? Somehow, I think not.
