Britain Looking For An “Exit Ticket.”
The Guardian is reporting that despite public claims to the contrary, diplomats in the UK’s Foreign Office are working frantically to developing an “exit ticket” from Iraq.
The Foreign Office is attempting work out a plan to begin British and US troop reduction next year, but that the violence in Iraq is making task more difficult. The ambitions for Iraq has been reduced, as a Foreign Office official said. The official said, “we will settle for leaving behind an Iraqi democracy that is creaking along.”
