Leaked Memo Shows Insight Into FEMA.

Newly leaked memos are showing that FEMA waited hours after Hurricane Katrina had hit New Orleans before requesting help to be dispatched to the Gulf region. FEMA director Michael Brown said that just 1,000 Homeland Security personnel would take an two entire days just to show up at the disaster scene. The Associated Press said that Brown’s memo was seriously lacking in any kind of urgent language, and that Brown’s memo told employees would be expected to “convey a positive image of disaster operations to government officials, community organization and the general public.”
