Iraq War Vets To Challenge Republicans, Part I.

The Associated Press is reporting that Iraq War veteran Paul Hackett, who nearly won Ohio’s 2nd district seat in a special election last August, will be running for the US Senate in the state of Ohio.

Hackett, who last August lost against Jean Schmidt by only 3,000 last minute votes, who 48% of the district’s vote in a district that rarely goes less than 75% Republican, and hasn’t sent a Democrat to it’s seat in decades.

Spokesman David Woodruff, who acted as Hackett’s campaign manager in this summer’s special election, confirmed that Hackett will be running for the US Senate in the state of Ohio against the two term incumbent Republican Mike DeWine.
