National Guard Will Stay In Iraq.

The Pentagon said that 8,600 troops will be on the ground to assist in recovery efforts in New Orleans. White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan said there were no plans to call back 6,000 plus members of the Louisiana and Mississippi National Guard currently stationed in Iraq. To make up for the shortfall, National Guard units are being sent as far away as Wisconsin. Meanwhile, CNN is reporting that up to 20% of New Orleans police force has gone AWOL.
