A Finer Republican President.

“Should any political party attempt to abolish Social Security, Unemployment Insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There’s a tiny splinter group, of course, who believes you can do these things. Among them are a few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their numbers are negligible, and they are stupid.”

-President Dwight D. Eisenhower
November 8th, 1954

I think it is important to point out that this idea of "privatizing" Social Security is not only a great idea but wasn't Bush's to begin with. It was Clinton's. But funny how now that Bush has basically proposed Clinton's plan (that got derailed with his exposed affair with Monica) it is now a "bad" thing.

Don't believe me?

Here is the Senate Bill:

Senate Bill 21 which was proposed by a Democrat Moynihan would have allowed for individual accounts.

Here is the link to that part of the legislation

But I guess since it was Bush that is really fighting for it it is all of a sudden a horrible idea.
